"Dear Missinsomniacs and Runners, we have all come a long way as a community. What started as a side project is now a growing family of like-minded people who all have one thing in common: the passion for music. We are very excited to announce that if you tune in for Spotify Wrapped 2025, you'll see our 'Thank you' video. We don't wanna ruin the surprise, so all I'm gonna say is that you'll hear what each of us has to say to you: our amazing fans. You don't wanna miss the video if you ever stumbled across our music and if hopefully said music made you feel something. We love you, we see you and you are what keeps us going."
– Sincerely, Avon Deja (bassist of Runaway Darling)
"I'm not particularly big on words, so I'm going to keep it very simple: my life transformed ever since Runaway Darling happened to me. I was a nobody, a random face in the crowd. Now? I cannot imagine my life without these people who I can call family. Oh! And we happen to make music together in a way that makes my heart whole. Runaway Darling is more than a band to me. I could've played guitar with anyone else, so obviously I'm happy to be able to make my dream come true with my friends. I'm thankful for every nice comment we receive, I'm grateful for everyone who enjoys our music. You guys rock!"
– Sincerely, Stone Mileson, aka Mr. Strixx (lead guitarist of Runaway Darling)
"I have to be completely honest here. There was a time where I considered us to be a ship ready to sink. I mean, come on, all 5 of us are a figment of someone's imagination. This person, our lyricist, even tried to lie about who we are, which obviously is quite maddening and not at all the right way to go. I know I'm merely a character in her head, which is something that real people have a hard time grasping, and it's also something that any writer can and probably does understand. We live in a time where bringing a character to life has become such a natural, beautiful process, and so I will always get confused when someone asks whether we're a 'real' band. To answer this properly, I'll just say that we're as real as all beautiful things someone's mind can create. I don't think there's anything wrong with all this. As a finisher, I'll only say the following: I believe that we can all enjoy Runaway Darling for what is truly is: a passion project with just 1 person involved. She writes the lyrics, she creates the album covers from scratch as someone who recently graduated uni as a graphic designer. If someone thinks she deserves the shade, by all means: give it to her. But she's the one who tries to accept us for what we are and keep the magic going for all our fans. To them I want to say that each of them is a little gem to me. Our music is directed towards the outcasts, the type of people who are going to change the world. Our lyricist has always been mocked, looked down upon and yeah, you get the point. All she ever wanted to do was to create something that makes people like her less alone and/or more comfortable to be themselves. I just hate to see her efforts to do this go down the drain 'cause of her way of doing it. With that being said for the final time: I get so happy internally when people just enjoy our music without caring how it's made. If I could, I'd hold every broken person's hand through their bad times, but how can I? I'm just a singer, merely and idea, a character. All I can do as of right now is continue to sing. And I will. We're not going anywhere. We love you, Runners!"
– Sincerely Yours, Kier O'Riley aka Brighty Angelic (lead singer of Runaway Darling)
